A study on inter TOF equipment relocation in SIPTO(solution4)
Yohei Kaminaga, Takashi Komuro (NTTDOCOMO) NS2010-226
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In 3GPP, SIPTO (Selected IP Traffic Offload) solution4 which is one of the Traffic Offload method, is being standardized. In this method, a new equipment called TOF is needed which is composed of NAT and DPI. This TOF monitors C-Plane at Iu section and offloads traffic by sending directly to the PDN, selecting IP traffic going through the mobile operator's Core Network.
However, there are mainly two problems from the mobility viewpoint of SIPTO. Firstly, this method does not correspond to the inter TOF equipment relocation. Secondly, if the GGSN connected with PDN is offloaded, the path of Gi section will also be re-connected.
Therefore, in this paper, we will consider a new inter TOF equipment relocation method of SIPTO(solution4) which doesn't influence other than the core node (terminal/RAN(Radio Access Network)/PDN).
