A Dual-mode Channel Estimation Scheme using Log Likehood Ratio for COFDM Transmission
Koushin Suzuki, Fumio Takahata (Waseda Univ.) CAS2010-146 SIP2010-162 CS2010-116
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Decision feedback channel estimation (DFCE) is one of the promising channel estimation schemes for OFDM transmission under fast fading channels. The paper proposes a fading compensation scheme to COFDM transmission of packet encoded by LDPC, where pilot symbols are inserted at both ends of each packet and DFCEs are carried out in dual modes from the both ends. The proposed scheme has a feature that, among bits compensated in the dual modes, a reliable bit is selected by comparing values of LLR (Log-Likelihood Ratio) and supplied to the LDPC decoding. Computer simulation results show that the proposed approach provides better BER than the traditional decision feedback channel estimation scheme.
