Time Slot Allocation Scheme enabling Simultaneous Bidirectional Traffic in Multi-hop Wireless Sensor Networks

(in English) In sensor networks, sensing data packets are mainly transmitted from sensor nodes to sink node. In non-beacon mode of IEEE 802.15.4, child nodes send data packets by unicast to respond to a query packet broadcast by the parent node. Collisions of unicast packets and their losses are likely to occur. This consequently causes a lot of energy consumption. In this paper, a time slot allocation scheme which can achieve spatially simultarous communication is proposed. As well as, the proposed scheme effectively reduces the packet collisions. Based on the information of two hop neighbors, each node reserves time slot through depth-first search in the tree network topology. Nodes which are spatially separated can reserve the same time slot to implement simultaneous communication. As a result, it achieves efficient use of bandwidth. The proposed method is evaluated by the simulation. The simulation result shows that the proposed method achieves low delay while keeping high delivery ratio.
