RNA virus ditection used Metal coated hollow fiber membrane and Reverse Transcription Loop-mediated Isothermal Amplification from simulated serum sample

(in English) Japanese Red Cross Society has carried out Nucleic acid Amplification Test (NAT) to secure safety of a blood supply. However, NAT can not detect virus under the low degree contamination of the blood. Therefore, we started development of sensitive virus detection with uniquely contrived metal-coated hollow fiber membrane and RT-LAMP. We examined whether this virus detection could detect feline calicivirus (FCV) of RNA virus such as hepatitis C virus (HCV) or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). As a next step, we tried to detect RNA virus from simulated serum sample. As a result, we could detect from simulated serum sample containing 5 PFU/mL of FCV and more quickly than NAT.
