Aggregation planning for access network considering subscriber density using a location-allocation model
Yu Nakayama (NTT) CS2010-69
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Population is expected to decline in Japan. Access network planning needs to consider the future decline of subscriber density. Especially in rural areas, Minimizing the deploying cost of the aggregation is important issue for the expansion of FTTH. This study proposes the planning method which can minimize the aggregation cost by applying the single or the cascade aggregation depending on the subscriber density. This method is based on a location-allocation model which is used to find mathematically the optimal location. The simulation result on GIS shows application of the cascade aggregation in rural areas reduces the deploying cost.
