We propose and demonstrate ring all pass filter type slow light tunable delay line. The device was fabricated by using Si photonics technology, and a maximum tuning range of 300 ps was achieved for a certain bandwidth using integrated heaters. For 40 Gbps pseudo random NRZ bit sequence, eye opening was confirmed for a delay of up to 150 ps. The delay of bit patterns agreed well with the delay spectrum. We also propose and demonstrate high-speed optical pulse train generator using branching circuits fabricated by the same technology. 32 pulse trains equivalent to 556 Gbps RZ signals was achieved when the mode-locked pulse was incident on five-fold branching circuits. |
