Aperiodic Correlation Properties of Pseudorandom Binary Sequences as Unipolar Codes -- Comparison of NFSR Orthogonal Sequences and Gold Sequences --
Shintaro Matsuo, Akio Tsuneda (Kumamoto Univ.) CAS2010-96
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In asynchronous DS/CDMA communications and positioning systems based on spread-spectrum codes, aperiodic correlation functions are very important. In CDMA communications with radio waves, binary spreading codes are used as bipolar codes taking +1 or $-1$. On the other hand, in on-off keying modulation such as light communications, spreading codes are used as unipolar codes taking 1 or 0. CDMA communication systems with unipolar codes utilizing the orthogonality of bipolar codes have also been proposed. In this paper, we examine the aperiodic correlation properties of orthogonal codes generated by nonlinear feedback shift registers (NFSR) as unipolar codes, and compare them with Gold sequences.
