A Novel Dual Polarized Microstrip Array Antenna using Orthogonal Feeding Circuit -- Both-Sided MIC Technology and Air-bridge --

(in English) In this paper, a novel dual polarized microstrip array antenna is proposed using a both-sided MIC technology and air-bridges. The both-sided circuit is useful technology for realizing a simple structure. An advantage of the circuit is a high design exibility. The air-bridges are often used for MMIC because it is possible to ease the circuits complexity. The feeding circuit using both the both-sided circuit and the air-bridges is applied to a microstrip array antenna. The proposed dual polarized microstrip array antenna can be realized using the orthogonal two feeding circuits. As for this cofiguration, it is possible to realize the functional array antennas such as a multiband antenna, a linear polarization switchable microstrip array antenna, etc.
