Verification of Existence of Decentralized Predictive Diagnosers with Safety Constraints for Discrete Event Systems
Hiroki Harada, Shigemasa Takai (Osaka Univ.) CST2010-79
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) For discrete event systems, decentralized predictive diagnosis of failures using local diagnosers has been studied. The task of predictive diagnosis is to predict a failure before its occurrence based on observed event sequences. However, even if the occurrence of an impending failure is predicted, there may not be enough time to react it.In this paper, we impose a safety constraint that any failure is detected in a timely fashion so that its occurrence is safely reacted. We derive a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a decentralized predictive diagnoser that satisfies the safety constraint, and present an algorithm that verifies the existence condition.
