Basic Study on the Visual-Haptic System to Give a Sense of Shape Using Pseudo-Haptic Effects

(in English) In our research, we aim to construct the visual-haptic system consits of simple mechanism which can
give users a sense as if thye were trasing on the surface of virtual objects, using Pseudo-haptic effects. The system is composed of a visual display which evokes Pseudo-haptic sensation and a haptic device which generate a physical haptic presentation, and realizes the presentation of the complexed shape which has been difficult with conventional physical haptic devices. In this paper, we focus on these three shapes, plane, curve, and edge as the elements which compose complexed shape. We cosider how we can change the shape which users feel when we compose and give them visual presentation and haptic presentation. Then we define the situation in which we can evoke Pseudo-haptic effects effectively for each elements, and evaluate the tendency through experiments.
