Experimental Parameter Evaluation for Indoor Polarized MIMO Channel
Atsushi Kunikata, Tetsuro Imai, Koshiro Kitao (NTT DOCOMO) AP2010-146
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In order to achieve high throughput in cellular systems, polarized MIMO techniques which can save space of base station antennas, are extremely attractive and applying these techniques to indoor environment where higher throughput can be expected than outdoor environment are actively investigated. As main connection area is LOS environment in indoor environment, polarized MIMO performance depends on K-factor and XPD. Until now, experimental studies of K-factor and XPD in indoor environment have been reported, however, there are almost no studies about these characteristics based on polarized MIMO. In this report, we clarify the characteristics of K-factor, XPD and channel correlation of polarized MIMO channel obtained by measurements and simulations in LOS environment in indoor environment.
