The rapid advance in wireless communication has brought about high-speed and location-free access to content. However, the connection quality has not always remained equal and mobile devices still experience disconnection, especially when they carry out handover between two discrete communication areas or when they use short-range wireless devices. To support this, the concept of opportunistic communication has been introduced as a new paradigm for wireless communication networks. However, the problem in opportunistic communication we have to consider is the limited connection time between end nodes and access nodes. Based on these, we have proposed a novel transmission timing scheme using aggregated data transmission and predicted information of moving nodes in a opportunistic roadside-to-vehicle communication system, where a set of wireless access nodes provides a dedicated wireless communication area and moving nodes receive content from the service. In this paper, we formulate the problem of timing control that maximize the amount of received data with multiple kinds of content files. We also focus on the situation where predicted information includes error. To evaluate the performance under such conditions, we introduced a time-continuous car-following model, where a car's behavior depends on only his own velocity and on the front car immediately ahead of him, into our simulation. |
