Transmission and Reception Schemes of Control Information in SU-MIMO for LTE-Advanced Uplink

(in English) In this paper, transmission and reception schemes of uplink control information (HARQ-ACK) is studied for SU-MIMO for LTE-Advanced uplink and the performance is evaluated. For the transmission of HARQ-ACK information, data and HARQ-ACK are multiplexed in time domain and HARQ-ACK is replicated. After that it is mapped onto all layers. It is shown by the simulation that the reception scheme where HARQ-ACK signal is received as rank 1 signal can not achieve the target error rate 10-3 in high SNR region. Then, assuming the reception scheme where HARQ-ACK signal on each layer is separately received, two transmission schemes for HARQ-ACK are evaluated. One is to always use QPSK for HARQ-ACK regardless of data modulation and the other is to use the same modulation as that for data on each layer. According to the simulation results, it is shown that the former scheme achieves lower required SNR to satisfy BER of 10-3 in case of 2 bit HARQ-ACK thanks to the enlarged Euclidean distance while the latter scheme achieves the lower required SNR in case of 4 and 10 bit HARQ-ACK thanks to larger channel coding gain.
