Today, many IT companies are trying to save the energy of air-conditioner especially in their server room for the purpose of reducing CO2 emission. One solution is to monitor the temperature profile in server room more accurately to prevent from excess cooling. But if the conventional temperature sensors, such as thermocouples are applied to spacious server room, the system configuration is obliged to be very complicated. Moreover higher initial cost including installation is expected in many cases. This paper introduces an application to temperature monitoring system for server room using fiber-optic sensing technology. |
