Study on no-reference type hybrid video quality assessment model

(in English) Objective video quality assessment is required to monitor the quality of experience for video streaming services over IP networks in real-time. To monitor the video quality at an end-user’s environment, we have been investigating a no-reference (NR) media layer video quality assessment model that estimates the video quality of coded videos using pixel information for several years. In this work, we improve the model by using packet header information. The improved model is called the NR hybrid video quality assessment model. We validated the performance of the model through a subjective quality assessment experiment. The results showed that our model can estimate the subjective video quality of coded video with sufficient accuracy.
