Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A BCI (brain-computer interface) system that detects visual ERPs (event-related potentials) to control a cursor on the computer screen is proposed in this paper. The ERPs induced by the selective attention to one of the eight circles around the cursor which was blinked in random order, was used to control the cursor movement. Information bit rates for five subjects were about 11 to 16 bit/min. Improvement of an information bit rate and increasing a speed of cursor movement are left for further studies.
