HARQ Throughput of Distributed Antenna Network Downlink Using Space-Time Block Coded-Joint Transmit/Receive Diversity

(in English) Distributed antenna network (DAN) which uses a number of antennas distributed geographically can mitigate the adverse effects of the path and shadowing losses as well as frequency-selective fading.
We have considered frequency-domain space-time block coded-joint transmit/receive diversity (FD-STBC-JTRD) for the single-carrier (SC-) DAN downlink in a frequency-selective channel, and have showed that the bit error rate (BER) performance significantly improves by increasing the number of distributed antennas.
In this paper, we apply hybrid automatic repeat-request (HARQ) to the SC-DAN downlink transmission using FD-STBC-JTRD. We investigate, by computer simulation, the spatial distribution of the throughput and discuss the impact of the number of transmit/receive antennas, modulation schemes, and coding rates.
