PHY/MAC cross-layer multi-system simulator for performance evaluation of DSA system in ISM band

(in English) Recently, the authors have studied a new wireless communication system based on dynamic spectrum access (DSA) for efficient use of radio resources and spectrum sharing among multiple wireless communication systems operated in ISM bands. In preparation for the valid performance evaluation of the DSA system, they have developed a PHY/MAC cross-layer multi-system simulator which can deal with various interference caused in spectrum sharing situations. It includes IEEE 802.11g ERP-OFDM and Bluetooth Version 2.0 + EDR as wireless communication systems, and their detail PHY processes and basic MAC processes are implemented in the simulator. This paper introduces the overview of the developed cross-layer simulator. In addition, some results of system performance evaluation assuming a coexisting situation of IEEE 802.11g ERP-OFDM and Bluetooth are shown.
