[Invited Talk] Multi-Primary Color Display Technologies

(in English) The multi-primary color (MPC) technology is quite newly developed to realize not only wide gamut which includes almost all real-surface colors but also various factors of an ideal liquid crystal display. The major advantages of MPC technology are accurate color reproduction, improvement of viewing angle characteristics, high perceptual resolution, and power-saving efficiency. These features are achieved by the innovative MPC redundancy control. Some obstacles against promoting diffusion of MPC technology have also been discussed. Furthermore, we suggest a new platform based on multi-primary colors system.
