Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The research of the Ad hoc network technology was begun on DoD of the United States in the 1970's. The standardization effort is begun with IETF MANET WG in 1997, and has progressed. Moreover, the Mesh network is standardized in IEEE802.11s, and has progressed too. On the other hand, the experiments of Ad hoc/Mesh network are conducted. The main applying systems are the event monitoring system, the disaster system, and farmland monitoring system, etc. In addition, application to the real system starts, too. The main issues for application to real system are the quality of wireless communication and throughput decrease prevention, etc. A routing method that considers a wireless quality and the two or more channel use are proposed for solving these issues. Recently, a smart meter and the inter-vehicle communication, etc. are paid to attention applying new ahead of the Ad hoc network. In smart meter system, it is necessary to construct a large-scale Ad hoc network that consists of about 500-1,000 meters on the assumption of the limited resource. IETF ROLL WG is established about this to make a new standard that assumes such an environment, and the routing method named RPL is discussed. Moreover, in inter vehicles communication the GeoCast multi-hop routing is necessary to communicate toward the specific area, and some proposals of the GeoCast routing are performed. In a smart meter system and inter-vehicle communications, it is necessary to construct large scale Ad hoc network. In that case, the hiding terminal problem is actualized more than before. For this problem, the TDMA method is introduced, but this is thought for still a serious problems.
