Design of on board communication system for nanosatellite

(in English) The On board communication design of nano satellite demands an efficient communication system for transfer of payload data and house- keeping data from satellite to Ground station and receive tele-commands from Ground station to satellite. The data is encoded using Reed Solomon coding for efficient error correction. The RF Electronics is made to work at very low voltage and consumes very low power with ARIB standard. There is a beacon transmitter included in the design in order to track the satellite by even HAM users. The band of frequency chosen is UHF and VHF. The Link margin is being established with very less power transmitted from satellite. The Board is less then 200gms and the average power consumption is 0.28 W with a peak of 2.8W during operation. Monopole antenna and Helical antenna has been designed for transmitter and receiver respectively for communicating from satellite to the Earth. Several simulations has been done for the location and dimension of antenna using HFSS. The Power amplifier design has been taken into consideration the heat dissipation using suitable radiator and PCB design.
