Miniature and high power X-ray tubes with Graphite Nanospines (GNS) have been investigated. A GNS and a control electrode are encapsulated in a glass tube with a X-ray target. The diameter and length of the glass tube are 25 mm and 34 mm, respectively. The internal tube pressure is below 1 x 10-7 Pa and an anode current exceeding 1 mA at an anode voltage of 22.9 kV is observed in the fabricated X-ray tube. The anode current dispersion for 100 min, defined as standard deviation/mean (/ mean), is relatively small at 2.4 %. A high X-ray radiation dose rate exceeding 5 Sv/h is obtained from the X-ray tube and the radiation dose rate dispersion is also small (/mean = 0.3 %, for 100 sec). |
