Relationship between collector geometry and collector characteristics of vacuum transistor

(in English) Relationship between collector geometry and collector characteristics was studied by numerical simulation. The evaluated vacuum transistor consisted of a gated field emitter array and an exteranal collector. The size of aperture was assumed to be sufficiently small as compared to the device size. Electron beam trajectories were calculated in the following manner. Calculation of electric potential distribution was performed by finite difference method. Integration of equation of motion was performed either by Euler scheme or Runge-Kutta scheme. It was found that the knee characteristics were improved with curved collector as comapred to the flat collector.
