A FPGA-based two-dimensional neuron model and its bifurcation

(in English) Hybrid neural networks are neural networks consisting of living neurons interacting with artificial neurons. The hybrid neural networks help to reveal how neural properties regulate the electrical activity of neural circuits. Real-time comutation is requested for interactions between living neurons and artificial neurons. In the present study, we developed FPGA-based neurons for real-time computation. Two neuron models were implemented: class I and class II neurons. Class I neuron fired with a frequency that varied over a broad range of 5 to 81 Hz. Class II neuron showed a limited frequency band. The frequency was relatively insensitive to the dc bias current.
