| (in English) | This paper clarifies the relationship between signal bandwidth and horizontal sound localization with band-pass noise and band-stop noise. Four subjects listened to band-pass (2-12, 4-12, 2-8, 4-8, 8-12, 2-4 kHz) filtered noise stimuli. Signal bandwidth from 2-12 kHz is necessary to perform good horizontal-sound localization. It was difficult to localize sound for narrowband band-pass noises. Five subjects listened to band-stop (0.5-12, 2-12 kHz) filtered noise stimuli. All subjects perceived high and low sounds separately for those stimuli. Even one band-stop noise was presented at front or rear position, it was localized from two directions, e.g. one from front another from rear. | |
