| (in English) | In this paper, we propose classifier generation methods for a personal authentication system using lip variation. The personal authentication system using lip variation utilizes lip shape (physical trait) and utterance pattern(behavioral trait), and can be constructed with only a camera extracting lip area without special equipment like other personal authentication. We have already proposed a personal authentication system consisting of classifiers judging individuals. The classifiers are generated with features extracted from devided lip region (cell), and is robust for slight lip variation. However, in the conventional classifier generation methods all features used for authentication are uniformly employed, and the less-useful features consequently affect the authentication. Therefore, we propose novel classifier generation methods weighting each features by using AdaBoost. More useful features affect the authentication by weighting each features. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is effective in the actual authentication system. | |
