The first Quasi-Zenith Satellite System(QZSS) is planned to be launched in this summer, i.e. FY 2010. The QZSS orbit follows "asymmetric figure 8" foot printand the system is expected to complement of the Global Positioning System(GPS) by incresing the number of satellites at high elevation angles. National Institute of Information and Communications Technology(NICT), Japan is going to develop the time management system for QZSS, and carry out experiments with this equipment. As for the time management system, care has to be taken when the satellite approach the low elevation angles. Thus it is preferable to evaluate the telecommuni-cation performance on Ku band from low elevation angles, considering the satellite specific orbit which follows a "figure 8" foot print. In this paper, we consider the system noise , solar noise, and interference sig-nals of geostationary satellites. We describe details of our examination and derived a model for the total noise of the system based on measure-ment data. |
