Packet Transmission Experiments of STBC-based Multi-hop Cooperative Relaying

(in English) In multi-hop cooperative communications, multiple relay stations are employed at each hop in order to enhance its transmission performance. The performance of multi-hop cooperative networks is well investigated by conducting computer simulations. Transceivers for multi-hop cooperative communications using space-time block code are developed in order to evaluate the transmission performance in real propagation channels. In this paper, field experiments of multi-hop cooperative communications are conducted with these equipment. The transceivers are implemented on a field programmable gate array, which perform real-time signal processing. Synchronization of timing and carrier frequency among wireless stations is established on the basis of the received signals. The transmission performance of cooperative communications is compared to the performance of non-cooperative multi-hop communications using either of relay stations. The performance of all the relay schemes are measured quasi-simultaneously. The performance is evaluated in terms of the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the BER.
