Selection of position of equivalent current source in LSI linear macro-model using Norton equivalent circuit in transient domain

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The authors have developed an EMC macro-model called LECCS model composed of a linear equivalent circuit and internal equivalent current sources in order to simulate high frequency currents generated by an LSI.
This report explains the method to convert a switching circuit model, expressing internal activities of an LSI chip, to a linear macro-model (LECCS). An equivalent current source in the LECCS model is obtained using Norton's theorem in transient domain. When waveforms of the equivalent current source expressing adjacent switching aren't overlapped each other, the LECCS model is equivalent to the original switching circuit model.
However, when the equivalent current source is placed at the external terminals, it has large overlap, and the simulated current with the LECCS model doesn't correspond to the current with the switching circuit model. In conclusion, the equivalent current sources should be placed at internal terminals to reduce overlap of the sources.
