Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Ultrasonically activated scalpel is used widely in laparoscope-assisted surgery, but it is concerned that it may damage the organization of the position that is different from the vibration direction in the design. It is envisioned that one of the cause of tissue damage is cavitation, but the relation between the vibration of an actual blade, the cavitation and the heat effect is not clarified. Therefore we measured the oscillation characteristic of the blade and observed the generation of cavitation bubbles and verified the relation between these. The cavitation effect and the thermal effect for a living tissue were verified.
