Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We developed the multiple resonance transducer (MRT) formed by different thickness piezo elements, matching layer and backing layer. In this report, the MRT consisted of thin piezo elements with resonance frequencies of 2 MHz and thick piezo element with resonance frequency of 6 MHz. The MRT was excited by negative impulse waveform, and radiated ultrasonic waveform was measured by hydrophone at focal point. Its frequency characteristics had peaks at 1.5 MHz, 3.0 MHz, 4.6 MHz, 5.2 MHz, 5.9 MHz, 6.2 MHz, 7.9 MHz and 9.1 MHz. Peak at 6.2 MHz has maximum value. The MRT had band from 1.3 MHz to 9.1 MHz. To examine the advantage of the MRT, imaging of ultrasonic phantoms were performed by using many frequency components. From the results, speckle noise was effectively reduced from the ultrasonic images.
