On the frequency-dependency of the source-filter coupling in phonation
Tokihiko Kaburagi (Kyushu Univ.) SP2010-33
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The generation of voiced sound source is highly complex, since it may include acoustic feedback of the vocal tract to the dynamical behavior of flow through the glottis and that of the vocal folds. To investigate the in- terrelation among these physical processes, we constructed a voice production model composed of a boundary-layer analysis of glottal flow, modified two-mass model of the vocal fold, and a frequency-domain acoustic tube model of the vocal tract. The effect of the source-filter coupling was examined in this paper by using a time-domain simulation of phonation and modification of the frequency response of feed back acoustic pressures.
