An attempt to measurement of minimum audible pressure for high-frequencies

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) An attempt was made to measure the minimum audible pressure (MAP) for high-frequency tones. The sound pressure of high-frequency stimuli is easily affected by the movement of the participant’s head when the stimuli are presented by a loudspeaker. In the present study, the stimuli were presented by a headphone instead of the loudspeaker. To reduce the inter-participant deviation of the sound pressure, the sound pressure of the stimuli was calibrated with a probe-microphone that was placed in each participant’s ear canal. The result denoted the same tendency of the previous studies. In some cases, however, the probe-microphone was not placed adequately in the participant’s ear canal.
