The development of a Low Return Loss Field-Installable Optical Connector

(in English) We have developed mechanical splice type field installable connectors for various fibers and drop cables. This economical and easily installable technology is widely deployed in various FTTH systems. On the other hand, some FTTH networks require low reflectance connection. In response to such a demand, we have developed low return loss field installable connectors with both fusion splice and mechanical splice technologies. Applying this technology and expertise, we have developed a new mechanical splice type low return loss field installable connector for cables and fusion splice type low return loss field installable connector for fibers.
