| (in English) | Link quality measurement is needed before starting operation of a newly developed Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) in order to maximize the packet delivering performance. We consider how to minimize the total time to complete link quality measurement for the whole links by using parallel measurement as much as possible. Our proposed method consists of four phases. In order to save the time required for measuring link quality, multiple nodes execute the operation in parallel in three phases, where packet collision does not affect the measurement results. We conducted experiments of the 12 node testbed and obtained the results that parallel operation is significantly effective in reducing the time of link quality measurement compared with the sequential operation. It is also shown that in the phase, where parallel operation cannot be applied in principle to avoid packet collision’s effect on measurement results, parallel measurement can be used partly and is still useful partly to reduce measurement time. |
