Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The demand to capture a wide-angle and high-definition video stream has been risen for systems of surveillance, in-vehicle, portable, aerospace and so on and so forth. They require low-power-consumption systems which can process highly complicated and enormous computation in real time, and however it is very difficult to resolve the demand only by an existing technique. Image processing LSIs such as GPU and general-purpose MPUs do not become definite solution in the point of energy-efficient performance. ASICs which may satisfy both do not also become a definite solution in the cost. Here, we propose a novel system using a dynamic reconfigurable device. In the computation, circuits on the single device will be reconfigured about 90 times per second for realizing highly parallel processing optimized to computations in the moment. The system that we verified was able to achieve an enough operation performance and energy-saving, and to confirm the effectiveness.
