| (in English) | Until to now, we have proposed that the framework of AKARI network should be improved to Service-over-core network. Each service is built by connecting its access networks and service management sites, which may include similar servers, to end nodes placed at the periphery of the core network. This report discusses communication among LANs, communication between fixed and mobile phones, Internet services including mail and Web service, communication quality focusing on priority control, and so on, all of which are well supported by the improved AKARI’s core network. We think that the “Meta-architecture”, which allows simultaneous existence of multiple architectures and is implicit in the AKARI concept, can be achieved by combining the both Service-over-core network and the resource group (RG) for QoS control, which is proposed in this sequel. Improved AKARI network by using the framework of service-over-core network has three exciting features; (1)Communication carrier can realize practical charge management by measuring quantity of packets sent into the core network by each service,(2) Each service can use core network functions that set and release VPN tunnels,(3) A service under test can run inside the core network, using communication circuit resources (i.e. wavelengths) that are completely separated from those of other services. | |
