In this paper, analytical studies on an optimum matching condition for achieving the maximum channel capacity of a MIMO dipole array have been conducted. The results show that there is a matching condition that can provide a larger bandwidth averaged channel capacity (BAC) than that of the conjugate matching condition. Furthermore, considerations have been made on the relationship between the matching component values and, spatial correlation, channel gain, and eigenvalues. The results show that, when considering a wideband criterion, a condition that can achieve a channel gain with wideband characteristics gives a larger BAC, at the sacrifice of correlation characteristics. |
