Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper evaluates a performance of sound source separation and localization for active multi-media processing in ultra-realistic telework systems. An ultra-realistic telework system provides remote office environments where users feel close together, even though they are in distant places, and utilizes active multi-media processing that allows users to experience natural ROI (Region of Interest) control. In order to realize the active multi-media processing, a preliminary performance of sound separation and localization is evaluated using an ultra-realistic telework terminal being equipped with 3 displays and 24 speakers. The evaluation test results show that SIR (Signal-to-Interference Ratio) of 12 dB in sound source separation is at least necessary for adequate sound localization.
