Development of Hardware-In- the Loop Simulator for Road-Vehicle Communication System

(in English) This paper describes a simulation technology for Road-Vehicle Communication (RVC) system with DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication) and IR (Infrared). In the development of RVC system, we need to evaluate/test the developed system in various traffic situations. But it is difficult to carry out these evaluations and tests including wireless communication between moving vehicle equipped with wireless on-board unit(OBU) and road side unit(RSU) in the real world, because of the cost and safety problems. In order to solve this problem, we have developed hardware-in-the-loop simulator for RVC system in cooperation with real DSRC and IR system and made it possible to do evaluations in the laboratory.
