An Efficient Random Key Pre-distribution Protocol for Multi-Phase Wireless Sensor Networks (2)

(in English) A secure multi-phase WSN has a feature that a network automatically self-heals against the node-cap-
ture attack. This means that the ratio of compromised links is limited and constant even if the adversary regularly
corrupts sensor nodes of the network. For instance, the RoK scheme shows that the ratio of compromised links is
suppressed to about 10%. However, the ratio of compromised links is not too low in the existing Random Key Pre-
distribution (RKP) schemes for multi-phase WSN including the RoK scheme. In other words, the existing schemes
do not satisfy the high security of links against the node-capture attack. In this paper, we propose an alternative
RKP scheme for multi-phase WSN, in which the ratio of compromised links becomes close to zero. Our scheme
achieves the great reduction of the ratio of compromised links by enhancing the RoK scheme. Concretely, a private
key-seed is not directly stored in each sensor node by applying the polynomial-based scheme to the RoK scheme.
Furthermore, we show that the results obtained analytically and by simulations are very similar. Therefore, our
scheme can dramatically improve the ratio of compromised links.
