A Possible Cause for Degradation of Synchronization Precision from FTSP in Non Ideal Environments
Kazuhiro Yonekura, Kenta Shinohara, Hisa-Aki Tanaka (Univ. of Electro-Comm.) AN2009-79
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In wireless sensor networks, one of the timing synchronization protocol, flooding time synchronization protocol (FTSP)
assumes ratio of frequency between nodes (skew) is constant in time.
And, FTSP is expected to realize high synchronization precision due to esitmation of skew.
But, naturally, skew fluctuates in non ideal environments.
Accordingly, large synchronization error is possibly produced by this fluctuation.
In this study, we note that frequency of crystal oscillator fluctuates in time.
And, we clear that a cause for skew fluctuation.
