Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This report describes experimental results of 100,000 operations for a electromagnetic contactor at the load current of 5A with source voltage from 100 to 160V. The arc duration, contact resistance, arc energy, and electrode mass change are measured. As a result, the arc duration increased with the source voltage. In addition, a cathode electrode loss can be found to increase in proportion to total arc energy, independently of source voltage.
