Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Some types of planar resonant circuits are designed for the Mach-Zehnder optical modulators. The microwave resonant fields can affect on the refractive index of the optical waveguides so the strong modulation the resonant frequency can be expected. The co-planar circuit type resonators are designed by using the electromagnetic field simulator and the transmission line theory. The resonant characteristics of the designed resonant circuits are measured and are compared with the calculated ones. Furthermore, the modulation rates of the modulators which consist of the designed circuits are estimated.
