Performance of Dynamic Multi-Hopping Communication in Ad-Hoc Wireless Networks

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In wireless ad-hoc networks, radio propagation always changes due to fading. Therefore, not only the next node but farther nodes frequently receive the data packets. Dynamic Multi-Hopping Method has been proposed which makes full use of the over-reached data packets and chooses the optimum path for the packet transmission. In this paper, packet success ratio and average packet delay in hop count for the proposed method are analyzed in the multi-hop network environment. Results from the analysis and simulations show that the packet success ratio and average packet delay are significantly improved by the proposed method when the initial route has a large number of hop count.
