Adaptive Array Antenna (AAA) can shape its beam to suppress interference signals, so it can receive only the desired signal. For this reason, the AAA is often used for OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) systems in suppressing delay signals locating outside of the guard interval. This AAA’s interference suppression performance is strongly influenced by the direction of the desired signal as well as that of the interference signals. When the interference signal comes close to the desired signal, it results in a poor performance. In this report, we propose an AAA system and a pre-FFT equalizer is equipped for each array element. The pre-FFT equalizer is a kind of equalizer to suppress the interference signal in time-domain, and we can expect the interference suppression even if the desired and interference signals come from the same direction. We have evaluated the proposed AAA system with pre-FFT equalizer by a computer simulation. The results show that an excellent performance can still be achieved when the interference signal comes very close to the desired signal. |
