A Packet Discarding Scheme without Probabilistic Packet Drop

(in English) In order to avoide congestion in the network, a packet discarding scheme called RED(Random EarlyDetection) has been proposed. In that scheme, a router randomly discards arriving packets before it’s buffer overflows.
Although some enhanced schemes of RED have been proposed, they employ complicated controls to acheive high throughput and fairness among communication flows. However, many control parameters in the complicated
schemes would prevent from reaching their practical stages. This paper proposes a simple packet discarding scheme which reduces the number of parameters and provides better performance than existing ones. Concretely speaking,our scheme omits the probabilistic packet discard from RED. Via simulation, the proposed scheme provides higher throughput than existing ones and almost equal fairness.
