Optical switch based on Photonic crystal directional coupler

(in English) We fabricated photonic crystal directional coupler switches controlled by micro-heater. One of the two eigenmodes of the directional coupler has constant-frequency region by structural modifcation. The optical switch with the length 5m was accomplished by the special dispersions. The switching speed of the device for 1360nm wavelength region is ~4us with the power of 12.1mW, and the speed of the device for 1550nm is 5 ~ 7us with the power of 5.3mW.
