Method of Optical Wireless Communications for High-Speed LAN

(in English) A new communication method of spatial full-duplex CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection) based on the protocol in Ethernet 100BASE-TX is proposed for indoor high-speed optical wireless LAN (Local Area Network). To integrate wired communication LAN and realize wireless full-duplex CSMA/CD, a programmable FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) chip is used to stop idle signals in the method of Ethernet 100BASE-TX when no available data are transmitted in the information space, and detect the collision of data signals by the data frame selection when data signals are transmitted interactively. Based on this method of spatial optical CSMA/CD, the network control boards with practical use are developed for high-speed optical wireless LAN.
