Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) ACT-R (Adaptive Control of Thought - Rational),a theory and computational model of human cognitive architecture, enables us to predict the activated brain areas and information processing processes.
In this paper,we use ``ACT-R meets fMRI/ERP'' as a methodology for investigating human information processing processes and their neuro-mechanism.More specifically,we carry out ACT-R for simulating two cognitvely experimental tasks: two digits addition and number series induction,as case studies of human high cognitive functions,as well as modeling human thinking processes from visual recognition of the tasks to reach an answer by defining procedural knowledge and declarative knowledge and predicting activated brain areas related to the tasks.
Furthermore,we predict BOLD (Blood Oxygenation Level Dependent) response observed by fMRI (functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging). In addition, for two digits addition task,we show an interesting result by comparing simulation data with ERP (Event-Related Potential) data.
